"Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, 'Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.'"

Jesus is our savior and our healer- the Great Physician. As Ruth fights against cholangiocarcinoma, we turn our eyes to God, believing in His mercy and grace, knowing that He will see her through the storm to healing.

A day of Prayer for Ruth and a cure for Cholangiocarcinoma on Wednesday 12/29/2010

Hello everyone,

This blog is about my mom Ruth, who was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma approximately six weeks ago.  First, a little about my mom-- She is 74 years old and has a heart of gold.  She loves her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.  She has been a hardworking woman all of her life and is the strongest person I know.  However, the cancer and it's effects have taken a very heavy toll on her.  She has been hospitalized for the past six weeks and has not been able to eat which has led to a very poor nutritional status resulting in many complications.  She is currently in the ICU and is on a ventilator.  She is terribly afraid and cries everytime we enter the room and try to talk to her.  She has started TPN and hopefully will become strong enough to leave the ventilator soon and move toward getting out of the ICU.

We, her family are heart broken and feeling so powerless. We must try to help her in any way we can.  Most importantly, I believe in the power of prayer and the power of God.  I have spent a lot of time lately in hospital waiting rooms and family lounges reading the Bible.  Recently, I came across the passage in Luke 8:50 where Jesus is on his way to heal the daughter of Jairus, only to find out that the little girl has already died.  Jesus tells Jairus "Do not fear, only believe."  I found this passage to be incredibly strong and profound.

I am asking everyone who reads this to consider praying for my mom Ruth, as well as for a cure for this horrific cancer on Wednesday 12/29/2010.  I am trying to get as many people praying as possible.  Please consider praying for Ruth, I know God will hear our prayers.  Our goal is to hold a 24 hour prayer vigil for Ruth and for all who suffer from cholangiocarcinoma.  We are very blessed to know that so many are praying for mom and for a cure to this horrible cancer.

Thank you everyone for considering this request.  I know that there are so many good people out there who are willing to help.
